My name is Vicky, and I am one of the co-founders of Her Healing Journey, a group dedicated to raising awareness about mental health. I have faced mental health challenges since childhood, a time when such issues were not widely recognised in young people. As I matured, I found ways to manage my condition, although I often struggled to share my experiences and kept my feelings to myself. After connecting with Emma, who also deals with mental health issues, we recognised the urgent need to combat the stigma surrounding mental health. This realisation led us to establish Her Healing Journey, a free, non-judgmental peer support group for women aged 18 and older. Being in the company of others who have similar experiences can facilitate openness and help us understand that we are not alone. I aim to support other women in recognising that it is acceptable to feel down and to have difficult days; we are all human, and most importantly, it’s okay to talk.
My name is Emma, and I am 25 years old. I am one of the co-founders of Her Healing Journey, alongside Vicky. Both of us are deeply passionate about creating a safe and supportive space for women to connect and uplift one another. With a background as a paramedic, I have personally faced mental health challenges from a young age, and I continue to experience difficult days. While I am not an expert in mental health, our goal is to foster an environment of friendship, healing, and mutual support. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy scuba diving, spending time with friends, and sharing laughter. I look forward to connecting with many of you soon 🤍
